On Sunday, 30/11/2025, penton No. 3 of bridge No. 283 was inaugurated under projects of floating bridges in which Alexandria Shipyard Co. participates in the interest of Timsah Shipbuilding Co., and Suez Canal Authority. Inauguration was celebrated in the presence of Rear Admiral / Hossameldin Ezzat Kotb, and a high level delegation from Timsah Co., and Suez Canal Authority, headed by Eng./ Sameh Abdelrasoul – Shipyards Department, they were received by Rear Admiral Eng./ Hossameldin Ezzat Kotb – Chairman of Alexandria Shipyard Co., and leaderships, engineers and technicians of the company.

Floating bridges project is a national strategic project to execute the state plane to link “Sinai” with the valley by constructing some floating bridges along the canal shipping route as a main rout of the national project to reconstruct Sinai. Each penton length is 85 m and width is 15 m with draft 2.25 m and weight 524 tons, each bridge consists of three pentons linked together, the bridges have a good flexible mechanism of opening and closing time in conformity with shipping requirements. The today’s inaugurated penton is the second penton made under a contract of building (6) pentons signed with Timsah Shipbuilding Co., and in the interest of Suez Canal Authority as the first penton was inaugurated and delivered in August 2025. And the Worth mentioning is that Alexandria Shipyard, does its best to build and deliver the remaining pentons.
