“Youssef” marks the final delivery of four tugboats constructed at Alexandria Shipyard. This achievement highlights the advanced standards upheld by the shipyard in building and equipping tugboats, ensuring compliance with the highest technical and international specifications.
Additionally, Alexandria Shipyard is preparing to deliver its first Azimuth stern drive (ASD) tugboat with an 85-ton bollard pull capacity, which was built at the shipyard’s construction facilities for the first time in Egyptian shipyards, in collaboration with Robert Allan Design Office from Canada. Alexandria Shipyard aims to standardize this tugboat model across Egyptian ports due to its strong performance, ease of maneuverability and control, and its equipment from leading global manufacturers, including German MTU engines and Norwegian Kongsberg propellers and deck machinery.
Alexandria Shipyard also aims to market this tugboat in international markets outside Egypt in order to enhance the country’s export power and increase sources of income in foreign currency as a primary goal in the upcoming phase.
