This tugboat model is the inaugural product of Alexandria Shipyard’s newly established production line for this advanced design, developed in collaboration with Robert Allan Ltd. of Canada. It offers unmatched advantages, including a 30-40% price reduction compared to currently used models in Egyptian ports, a 50% savings in foreign currency, and increased bollard pull (85 tons vs. 70 tons). Furthermore, it is equipped with premium components from world-renowned manufacturers such as MTU engines and Kongsberg propulsion and deck machinery.
In the same ceremony, Admiral Attwa also inaugurated the newly built 800-ton North Slipway Gate. Measuring 32 meters in length, 13.5 meters in width, and 6.5 meters in depth, and weighing over 120 tons, the gate replaces the old slipway gate that had been in service for over 60 years.
