Al Horia (3) leaves Alexandria Shipyard Co., today Monday 31/08/2026 for its first voyage

In a step reflecting how far Alexandria Shipyard Co., pioneers shipbuilding in Egypt, Arab Region, Africa and Middle East; today, Monday, 31 August 2026, roll on /roll off ship Al Horia (3) left finally piers of Alexandria Shipyard Co., to be operated commercially and after extracting all certificates of relevant supervision authority and maritime safety authority.

Al Horia Ship (3) is the greatest roll on / roll off ship built in shipbuilding docks of Alexandria Shipyard Co.

In Egypt with total tonnage 9000 tons.

Delivering Al Horia Ship (3) reflects professionalism of engineers, technicians and manpower of Alexandria Shipyard Co.

In the field of shipbuilding specially the ability of design treatment of some systems inside ship which was restricting the ship operating preparedness, the affair which represented a challenge for the company’s design and production engineers; yet, by all the company’s employees will and insistence, this was crowned by finishing all building works and design modification successfully after passing all tests and approving the same by supervision authorities.

Al Horia (3) is one of the most striking successful projects of Alexandria Shipyard Co., within this period as the company could rehabilitate and prepare the ship after a long period of suspension to resume service by an advanced potentials and distinctive operating abilities.

Al Horia Ship (3) of tonnage 9000 tons belongs to Ro – Ro type with 200000 tons displacement and has developed systems of loading and unloading through slopes to enable entrance and leave of all types of vehicles and equipment including, cars, trucks, buses and trailers to enhance its abilities to carry out tasks of maritime transport in all commercial fields and otherwise.

Al Horia (3) has good potentials with length 173 m and width 25 m and speed 16 knots and capacity 103 trailers, 641 cars and 755 containers including reefers.

Al Horia Ship (3) is the third (Ro-Ro) ship built by Alexandria Shipyard Co. after Al Horia Ship (1) and Al Horia Ship (2) with tonnage 6000 tons for each to prove the company’s great experiences and potentials needed for producing this type of multiuse ships.
